Accounting Manager

We are seeking a full-time Accounting Manager who demonstrates honesty and integrity, and shares our core values. This position is ideal for those who are interested in proactively assisting their clients achieve financial success and developing long-term trusted advisor relationships with clients. In addition to servicing our clients, the selected candidate will play an integral role in the strategic growth of our firm.

We are committed to the professional and personal growth of each employee. This candidate will be placed on a career development track that could lead to becoming a Partner of our firm.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Spent 5 to 7 years auditing nonprofit organizations and is ready to switch to assisting clients achieve financial solidity and providing expertise for strategic planning and organizational growth, or
  • Spent at least 5 years working in an accounting firm that outsources to nonprofit organizations, and
  • Is ready to fast-track to a leadership position within a growing firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of bookkeepers and accountants
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle of not-for-profit clients on a monthly basis
  • Audit preparation of not-for-profit organizations
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and payments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and operating systems

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, CPA mandatory
  • 7+ years of audit or full cycle accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of the accounting nuances of not-for-profit organizations
  • Knowledge of federal awards preferred
  • Experience with various accounting software programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be well-organized and detail oriented

Bookkeeper

We are seeking a full-time Bookkeeper who is ready to build their accounting career. This individual must demonstrate honesty and integrity, and share our core values. We are committed to assisting in the professional and personal growth of each employee. The selected candidate will be trained and developed to become an Accountant and continue a successful career path within the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Create records using established bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Assist in processing invoices, payroll, deposits, and the corresponding general journal entries
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, year-end audit preparation, and other reports

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 1 year of experience using an accounting software
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and multi-task
  • Must be well-organized and detail oriented

Staff Accountant

We are seeking a full-time Accountant for our team. This individual must demonstrate honesty and integrity, and share our core values. We are committed to assisting in the professional and personal growth of each employee. The selected candidate will be trained and developed to continue a successful career path within the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain the assigned client’s system and work program
  • Create records using established bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Full cycle accounting – Process AP, AR, payroll, deposits, reconciliation of GL accounts, and the corresponding journal entries
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, year-end audit preparation, and other reports
  • Maintain positive, long-lasting relationships with clients
  • Up to 25% travel to clients’ offices in DC metro area

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of experience in general accountancy role
  • Experience with an accounting software (i.e. Quickbooks, Peachtree, MIP)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel)
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Must be well-organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and multi-task
